2 Thessalonians by Conrad Hilario (2023)

Paul writes this letter to the Thessalonians to address the growing persecution they were enduring, the false teachers forging letters in Paul's name, and the growing problem of laziness. God allows suffering for future evidence of His justice, and to further His kingdom, God's future justice comforts believers now. God allows persecution in order to produce spiritual growth.

Paul writes to the Thessalonians to correct false teachers who had frightened them into thinking they had missed the gathering of God's followers which will happen in the Day of the Lord. Several significant events must happen before the Day of the Lord. Paul shares these details to comfort and give hope to those suffering as they await this Day.

Paul reminds the Thessalonians to discipline the lazy among them. Paul presents himself as a model to follow in living diligently for the Lord. He cautions them to not treat the lazy as enemies but as brothers and sisters needing loving but firm admonishment.
